AheadComputing, a Portland, Ore.-based startup led by former Intel execs, raised $21.5 million in a seed round led by Eclipse.

  • The company focuses on developing CPU technology with a goal of boosting performance in AI computing related to bandwidth shortages and data processing limitations.
  • It’s led by CEO Debbie Marr, who spent more than three decades at Intel and was chief architect of the Advanced Architecture Development Group (AADG) at the chip giant.
  • Other backers include Maverick Capital, Fundomo, EPIQ Capital Group, LLC, and current Tenstorrent CEO Jim Keller.
