Handset makers love to push their own official accessories onto customers. It’s not a bad thing as there is some assurance and peace of mind knowing that official accessories will work. That doesn’t seem to be the case for owners of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus and Ultra owners who are running into issues with Samsung’s official charging cable.

According to a post on the Samsung Community website, some users are running into charging issues with their phones. It seems that when they try to use the original 45W charger and the original 5A cable, their phones either charge extremely slowly or don’t charge at all.

Some users have found a workaround by disabling fast charging, but this means that their phones end up charging very slowly. It also seems that using third-party charging accessories don’t seem to work either. Some users also note that using the same charger and charging cable with the Galaxy S23 presents no problems, only with the Galaxy S25 Plus and Ultra models.

Thankfully, Samsung is aware of this issue. In a post on X by the Samsung Italia account, a company rep has acknowledged the problem. They claim that this will be rectified with a software update in the future. This means that users don’t have to worry about this being a battery or hardware problem.
