Samsung is reportedly working on an AI image-to-video feature for Galaxy phones

Samsung might be adding a pretty interesting AI trick to its Galaxy phones—an image-to-video generator. The feature could let you take a single photo and turn it into a short video clip, possibly just a few seconds long. It’s not confirmed yet, but according to a leak from tipster PandaFlash on X, Samsung is actively working on it as part of its next One UI updates.

This Samsung AI video feature would fall in line with the growing trend of turning still images into animated or dynamic content. Just last month, Honor showed off a similar feature in its Honor 400 series, using Google’s Veo 2 model to create 5-second clips directly in the Gallery app. So it’s not a huge stretch to think Samsung wants in on this, too, especially considering how closely it works with Google on AI integrations across Android.

There’s no official confirmation yet on whether Samsung will use Google’s Veo 2 or roll out its own model. But knowing Samsung’s recent approach with Galaxy AI, it wouldn’t be surprising if this turned out to be a shared effort.

If it works as described, this feature could animate a photo with subtle movements—great for portraits, sketches, or creative shots you’d usually post to Instagram or TikTok. We’re still in the speculation stage here, but it’s the kind of generative AI feature that could quietly become a hit if it’s done right.

No word yet on when it’ll launch, but if it’s already being tested, we might see it in One UI 8 or possibly even sooner in select models.
