Qualcomm just unveiled the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 (SM7750-AB). This is the follow-up to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 from 2023. However, the good news is that this time, the upgrades are more than just a spec bump.
Built on a 4nm process, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 packs a 1+4+3 Kryo CPU layout: a single Prime core at 2.8GHz, four performance cores at 2.4GHz, and three efficiency cores at 1.8GHz. According to Qualcomm, that translates to a 27% jump in CPU performance over the previous generation.
The Adreno GPU also sees a solid 30% improvement and adds some Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, like Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0. It supports HDR10, HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and HLG—making it a solid midrange option for gaming and media.
On the AI front, the Hexagon NPU is 65% faster than before and can run Stable Diffusion 1.5 locally—no cloud needed. Memory support goes up to LPDDR5 with UFS 4.0 storage, and the triple 12-bit Spectra ISP can handle up to 200MP stills and 4K video at 30FPS.
Connectivity-wise, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 checks all the boxes: sub-6 GHz 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, aptX Lossless and Adaptive audio, and even Qualcomm’s XPAN tech for personal networks.
Expect the first Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 phones from Honor, vivo, and realme to drop in the coming months.
