ZTE Goes All-out with its New Smartphones at MWC 2025

MWC 2025 is live, and we’re getting a good look at all the new and shiny gear from different brands and manufacturers. That in mind, veteran tech company ZTE has also unveiled its latest lineup of smart devices, which include a couple of gaming phones, and even a new tablet – let’s check them out.

First up we have ZTE’s new additions to its Nubia smartphone range, the Nubia Neo 3 and Neo 3 GT. Right off the bat, the two phones evoke that “gaming phone” feel at first glance, thanks to angular and vibrant designs that set them apart from the rest of ZTE’s new smartphone offerings. There are even dedicated built-in features such as touch-based shoulder trigger buttons, which round out the gaming-oriented design of the devices.

As for specs, the Neo 3 features a large 6.8-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Neo 3 GT features a similarly-sized OLED panel. ZTE has decided to equip the two devices with UNisoc chipsets, an interesting choice given that both are marketed as gaming smartphones. The Neo 3 features a Unisoc T8300 chip, while the Neo 3 GT comes with a Unisoc T9100 chip.

Up next we have the Nubia Focus 2 and Focus 2 Ultra, which come with *ahem* a focus on photography. As far as specs go, the Nubia Focus 2 features a 108MP main shooter and a 6.7-inch display, while the Focus 2 Ultra packs a larger 6.8-inch screen, as well as a larger 1/1.55-inch sensor. Most interesting of all is a rotating dial built into the Focus 2 Ultra’s camera bump, allowing users to physically adjust the camera for zoom functions.

ZTE also updated its Nubia tablet lineup with the Red Magic Pad 3D Explorer Edition (quite a mouthful), which features a 12.1-inch screen that can display 3D images without the need for special hardware. This is in addition to built-in AI features that can “convert” 2D images and videos into 3D content. It’s also the most powerful of the new device lineup, featuring a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip in addition to a 10,000 mAh battery.

Finally, global availability for the Nubia Flip2 was also confirmed, which brings it to more markets outside of China. The Flip2 features a 6.9-inch foldable OLED screen, and is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300X chipset, along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
