Galaxy S25 & Pixel 9 users on Verizon and a few MVNOs can now text outside cellular coverage
Verizon now lets you text via satellite even if there's no emergency.

- Verizon has launched its non-emergency satellite messaging service, allowing subscribers to send texts outside cellular range.
- The service is limited to Google Pixel 9 and Samsung Galaxy S25 series devices.
- Verizon has already pushed the necessary upgrades to enable the service, and it’s expected to roll out to users over the next two weeks.
Update (3/21/25):
It seems Verizon isn’t limiting its satellite service to just its own subscribers, as we have been able to confirm that at least a few Verizon-based carriers also support the feature. Spectrum and Charter officially announced the news earlier today, and while we haven’t seen official US Mobile confirmation, there are reports on the US Mobile subreddit suggesting this feature is available here as well.
