Opanga Networks, a Seattle-based startup that helps telecom companies optimize their mobile networks, raised $15.9 million in a new funding round.

  • Originally founded in 2005, Opanga uses machine learning to boost its software that helps telecom companies and network operators with network efficiency, energy consumption, and customer insights.
  • The company will use the fresh cash to grow its business in central Europe and Africa, according to a spokesperson. 
  • Opanga declined to provide details about investors. The company, led by telecom vet Cole Brodman, has 33 employees. It recently added Neville Ray, former president of technology at T-Mobile, to its board of directors.
