Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: The surprising phone for gamers

Although not specifically marketed as a gaming smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Ultra has proved to be hugely popular with many online gamers in recent years.

The S24 Ultra received plenty of positive reviews for its impressive gaming capabilities, particularly for players who spend their time in the associated iGaming sector.

People who loved playing online slots at Betway were in their element, with the S24 Ultra delivering a seamless gaming experience time after time.

The S25 Ultra has received mixed reviews since it arrived on the scene, despite boasting a stunning design and cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) features.

With an incredible array of cameras and arguably the best display of any handset on the market, Samsung’s new flagship phone ticks plenty of boxes.

However, where the S25 truly excels is gaming performance, blowing many so-called rivals such as the Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max out of the water.

The new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset is mind-blowingly powerful, making it the ideal engine for devouring games on online casino sites.

Samsung has previously been guilty of not taking major steps forward when they launch a new edition of the Galaxy Ultra, but this is not the case this time around.

Its Geekbench 6 CPU benchmark results put the S24 Ultra firmly in the shade, achieving an impressive single-core score of 3106 – well ahead its predecessor’s 2136.

The new phone’s multi-core result of 9763 was higher than the 6675 achieved by the S24 Ultra and significantly ahead of the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s 8479 score.

The S25 Ultra also scored extremely well for crucial elements such as average frame rate (fps), performing significantly better than its iPhone rival.

It seamlessly handles immersive games such as Call of Duty Mobile, while the graphically draining Genshin Impact runs to the same level you will find on even the best gaming phones.

When used with the Razer Kishi Ultra USB-C gaming controller, you could be forgiven for thinking the S25 Ultra had been developed purely with gamers in the mind.

Testing on slot games was equally productive, with the S25 Ultra easily devouring popular online casino titles such as Book of Dead, Flaming Joker, King Kong Cash and many more.

It was a similar story on other iGaming verticals such as blackjack, roulette and baccarat, while a lengthy Texas Hold’em poker tournament session was handled with ease.

The excellent battery life makes the S25 Ultra the ideal phone for online gamers, and comes with the added bonus of being a superb all-rounder for everyday use.

It not only offers a significant increase in performance over the S24 Ultra, but also manages to leave the iPhone 16 Pro Max trailing in its wake.

For gaming fans whose budget will not stretch to the flagship S25 Ultra, the basic Galaxy S25 and S25 are viable alternatives.

Both devices feature the same Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, which means the performance levels during gameplay should be the same.

However, the S25 Ultra has a larger display with higher resolution and a better battery, which makes it the phone of choice for people who take their gaming activities seriously.
