Xiaomi 15 will hit the global markets—with some differences

Last week, Xiaomi announced its latest flagship smartphone—the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. However, the launch at that time was for China. If you’re living outside of China and are eager to get your hands on the phone, then you’re in luck. Xiaomi has officially announced the global availability of the phone—but there are some differences.

Same but different

The main differences are in the phones’ batteries. For the China version, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra came with a massive 6,000mAh battery. However, for the global variant, it will be reduced to 5,410mAh. The phone will still retain the 90W wired and 80W wireless charging, however. It is a bit disappointing, but the upside is that the smaller battery means it should recharge faster.

Xiaomi is also offering different colors for the global version. The global versions are available in White, Black, and the special Silver Chrome edition, so it looks like the Pine Green finish is exclusive to China.

The company is also making some slight changes to the cameras on the phone. The main 50MP LYT-900 1-inch type sensor is still there, but its lens is no longer a variable aperture lens and uses a fixed f/1.63 lens instead. It is accompanied by a 70mm f/1.8 telephoto camera that uses a 1/1.251-inch Sony IMX858 sensor, and a 100mm f/2.6 telephoto with the 200MP 1/1.4-inch Samsung HP9 sensor. The ultrawide camera has also been changed to a 14mm f/2.2 lens that uses a 1/1.251-inch Samsung JN5 sensor.

Pricing & availability

Other than that, the rest of the specs remain the same. This means we can look forward to the same 6.73-inch display with a 1-120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness. We can also expect the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and up to 16GB of RAM. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is priced at €1,500 and is available for purchase on the 4th of March.
