With Qualcomm’s biggest announcements now in the rearview mirror, we’re seeing the manufacturer follow up its product lineup with “smaller” announcements and launches, the most recent of which is its new Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip. Set to release in the coming months with devices from Oppo, Honor and Realme, the 6 Gen 4 comes with some welcome features.

A 4nm chip, the 6 Gen 4 comes with ARMv9-based CPU cores with a prime 2.3GHz Cortex-A720, three 2.2GHz A720 big cores and four 1.8GHz Cortex-A520 small cores. Features such as Snapdragon’s “Super Game Resolution” can upscale supported Android games to 4K resolution, and Adreno HDR Fast Blend helps with smoother and better-looking visuals during gameplay. Qualcomm claims that this bump in performance manages to provide stable battery endurance as well.

Qualcomm adds that it’s made significant improvements to low-light photography and even with videos, alongside support for high-resolution 200MP photo capture. The 6 Gen 4 also supports on-device AI processing for generative tasks, as well as AI-powered noise cancellation and noise reduction features.
